Vow is made by Monica Ma. It is designed so that what you say stays with you.

What the app stores
Your recordings, the lines you keep, your before-and-after check-ins, reflections, practice history, stamps, chosen face, body model, guide and settings are stored on your device only. Email accounts created in the app are stored on your device; Vow does not store your password. Sign in with Apple gives the app an anonymous identifier from Apple; the app stores that identifier and, if you share them, your name and email, on your device.

What leaves your device
Nothing you say, record or write. The guide voices are recorded into the app and play offline. Your recordings are analyzed on the phone to describe your delivery (breath, pace, warmth, steadiness), and that analysis never leaves it. Vow has no server and no account system of its own. Apple handles sign-in and purchases.

Microphone
The microphone is used only during a practice you start: to react to your voice and to keep the recordings you choose to make. It never listens in the background, and Vow stores no transcript.

Reminders
Daily nudges, if you turn them on, are scheduled on your device by iOS. No server sends them.

Analytics and tracking
None. No advertising identifiers, no third-party analytics or tracking.

Purchases
Add-ons such as Doodles, The Trip and Experiences are bought through Apple. Vow receives only Apple's confirmation that an add-on is unlocked.

Health
Vow is a wellbeing practice, not a medical device. It does not read or write Apple Health data and does not diagnose or treat any condition.

Children
Vow is not directed at children under 13 and collects no data from anyone.

Deleting your data
Delete all recordings in Settings, or use Delete account to remove everything Vow has stored for that account on the device. Accounts do not sync or back up your practice. Deleting the app removes its local files. Device backups follow your Apple settings.
